SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Talk about dominance. For the second consecutive season, Jorinde van Klinken has earned the Pac-12's Women's Field Athlete of the Year award. The second-year Sun Devil took home gold in both the shot put and discus at last week's Pac-12 Championships, on top of a NCAA indoor shot put title in early March. She's won 4-of-5 discus meets and all five outdoor shot meets this season, ranks third nationally in the shot put (18.45m/60-6.5), and has the national lead in the discus (64.75m/212-5). The Assen, Netherlands native is also once again on The Bowerman watch list after ending the 2021 season as a semi-finalist.

Pac-12 full postseason award release

In just under two seasons, van Klinken has cemented herself as one of the greatest throwers to ever grace Arizona State and NCAA Track and Field. Her laundry list of accomplishments include two NCAA titles, three Pac-12 titles, ASU's discus record, the No. 2 all-time outdoor shot mark and No. 3 indoor shot mark, two USTFCCCA regional Field Athlete of the Year awards, ASU Heather Farr Student-Athlete award, and now a second Pac-12 FAOTY nod.

Van Klinken and almost 30 Sun Devils travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas next week for the NCAA West Prelims, hosted by Arkansas. Competition runs May 25-28 with athletes hoping to punch their tickets to the NCAA Championships.
