TUCSON - Arizona State Track and Field closed out the final meet of the regular season with a lot to celebrate. #ThrowsU celebrated Jorinde van Klinken recording season's best in the shot put and discus along with Shelby Moran jumping up to seventh in the NCAA West Region for the hammer. Jeremy Cody is now 23rd in the west in the high jump, and Jamar Marshall Jr. recorded the 11th best 400H time in the west region. ASU now has some down time until the Pac-12 Championships May 13-15 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

In his first meet back since taking a hard fall at the Mt.SAC Relays, Marshall Jr. ran a 50.24 season's best in the 400H for 11th in the west region. That shaved almost a full second off his season time and is just shy of his lifetime PR. In the 110H, he ran a 13.69 for his third 13.6 of the year.
Van Klinken threw 18.45m/60-6.5 in the shot put and 64.75m/212-5 in the discus - her discus time a 29-foot victory. Those both lead the NCAA west region and she's second in the overall NCAA in the shot now. Her discus mark leads the nation.
Shelby Moran's 68.41m/224-5 in the hammer pushed her to fourth all-time in ASU's record books and moved her to seventh in the NCAA west region. She's added 11 feet to her overall hammer mark this season after opening the year with a 213-9 foot mark at the Baldy Castillo Invitational.
Jeremy Cody jumped 2.13m/6-11.75 in the high jump, just shy of his 2.15m/7-0.5 lifetime best. The mark is a season's best that put him 23rd in the west region heading into the conference meet.
Taryn Hankins took third in the long jump with a personal best 6.05m/19-10.25. That's a foot and a half improvement for her that;s tied for 49th in the west region. She'll look to improve on that at the Pac-12 Championships to ensure her ticket to the NCAA West Prelims.
Rounding out the meet, Turner Washington had the best collegiate finishes in the shot put and discus. Neither were improvements for him but he's already top-2 nationally in both events.
