TEMPE - Sun Devil Men's Tennis is back home in Tempe and ready to host the ASU 8-Team Invitational Friday-Sunday at the Kiwanis Tennis Facility. No. 34 Memphis, No. 65 Rice, and No. 71 UC Santa Barbara come in alongside unranked Cal Poly, New Mexico, South Florida and Utah State. Two matches will be played each day, starting at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Fans can watch the courts live throughout the weekend via Playsight, but no live stats are available. Check tournament central for full details and the bracket. The tournament is free to spectators.

"We're super excited to start this tournament this year," head coach Matt Hill said. "We've wanted to do this since we restarted the program and we're so excited to finally get it going this year. We have a very strong field coming in that has some teams that don't always get a ton of opportunities against the better teams in the country because of the conferences they're in. We're really excited to get started, be back home, and have this weekend for the local community to come out and see us compete."
ASU hasn't previously hosted a full tournament under Matt Hill, though the Sun Devils did two three-team invites in 2018 and 2019 - the ASU Invitational in 2018 that the Sun Devils swept in, and the Tempe Collegiate Cup in 2019 where ASU earned an upset over No. 16 Illinois.
The Sun Devils are coming off a week of rest, their last match Feb. 11 against No. 21 Pepperdine where No. 67 Murphy Cassone knocked off No. 9 Daniel De Jonge and unranked Fabien Salle upset No. 22 Pietro Fellin.
The ITA's last individual rankings were released on Feb. 9 and had Memphis' David Stevenson / Jeremy Taylor at 26th, and ASU's Salle/Max McKennon at 29th. In singles, Cassone was 67th and South Florida's Chase Ferguson was 96th.
