TEMPE - Sun Devil Men's Tennis (1-1) fell 5-2 to No. 19 Texas A&M (1-0) Wednesday afternoon at Whiteman Tennis Center. Murphy Cassone and Fabien Salle upset ranked Aggies No. 74 Raphael Perot and No. 115 Noah Schachter in singles one and two. The Sun Devils are back home Sunday at 1 p.m. to host No. 5 Texas.
"I think I played well," co-captain Fabien Salle said. "It was the first time I was playing for a long time in a match so it was good but overall we lost the match. I'm happy with my result but I'm pretty disappointed for the team in general."
"I thought some guys looked good today, especially Murphy and Fabien aat 1 and 2," hed coach Matt Hill said. "The other guys at the back- we weren't disciplined enough with our play and that's the biggest thing for us right now, we have to have our plan and we have to stay in that plan instead of getting away from it."
How it Happened
The Sun Devils battled hard in doubles but were unsuccessful in securing the point. Jacob Bullard and Murphy Cassone won their doubles match 6-3 at No. 1but it wasn't enough as court 1 and 3 lost their match, both scores ending 6-4.
In singles competition, unranked Fabien Salle upset No. 74 Raphael Perot 6-4, 6-4. Murphy Cassone also upset No. 115 Noah Schachter in singles play winning 6-2, 6-3. George Stoupe picked up a second-set victory against Luke Casper at No. 6 and ASU celebrated Spencer Brachman earning a 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) exhibition match victory over Mathis Bondaz.

The Sun Devils will host No. 5 Texas on January 23rd at 1pm MST.
"We're gonna play our hearts out there and try our best and bring the energy," Salle said. "I hope a lot of people are going to come because it's going to help us for sure. We're just going to fight and see what happens."
