LEXINGTON, Ky. – As announced by the United State Marine Corps (USMC) and the AVCA, Sun Devil Volleyball is one of the recipients of the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2020-2021 season.
The award honors volleyball teams that have matched their dedication to the sport of volleyball with excellence in the classroom. Teams must maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale. This honor comes on the heels the Sun Devils reached their team GPA goal in the spring semester, earning a 3.58.
A total of 1,275 teams from in all three NCAA Women's Divisions, college men's volleyball and beach volleyball, and high schools were recognized. Close to 230 teams from division I received the honor, including six Pac-12 teams.
