KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The United Soccer Coaches announced Tuesday that two Sun Devil Soccer student-athletes were honored on the 2020-21 USC All-Pacific Region Team.
Junior midfielder Alexia Delgado was named to the All- Region First Team and junior forward Nicole Douglas earned an All-Region Second Team honors.
Delgado, the captain of the Sun Devil Soccer squad, made appearances in all 15 regular season matches and notched a team-high seven assists which also ties for second-most in the Pac-12 Conference. Her nine points and seven assists are both single-season highs for the junior. She scored her first goal of the season in the tie against Washington to protect ASU's undefeated streak. In the postseason, Delgado collected an assist in the first round to help boost ASU to the second round for the first time since 2014.
Douglas finished the 2020-21 season with 10 goals, second-most among Pac-12 players and 22 points which lands fifth in the Conference table. She notched a team-high 32 shots on goal, a mark that fell just two shy of the Conference lead. In the second game of the non-conference schedule, Douglas scored her third career hat trick to lift ASU to a 4-0 win over New Mexico State. The England native went to work in the postseason, scoring two goals - one in each game of the NCAA Tournament. She scored the last-minute equalizer in the second round match against Duke that pushed the game into eventual double overtime. Douglas' four game-winning goals leads the Pac-12 Conference.
