SAN FRANCISCO - Turner Washington is unreal.

The redshirt junior from Tucson earned Pac-12 Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors this week for his record-breaking performance Saturday at Arizona's Jim Click Shootout where he went 64.57m/211' 10" in the discus to one-up his program-record by over a foot. Washington now leads the country by six feet in the discus and also has the best outdoor shot put mark by three feet-six inches.

Washington's throw came on his third attempt of the day and landed 18 feet further than Washington's Elijah Mason's platter (59.08m/193-10).

This is Washington's third athlete of the week honor this season. He earned both USTFCCCA Male Athlete of the Week honors and Pac-12 male field POTW honors in March after initially breaking the ASU discus record at Arizona's Willie Williams Classic.

ASU splits the squad up next Saturday for the West Coast Classic. Distance athletes will be in Eugene, Oregon, while sprinters and jumpers will once again compete in Tucson at Arizona's campus.
