Last Time Out
Despite falling short of the road victory, ASU had an impressive day that featured a doubles point clinch thanks to set wins from No. 50 Ilze Hattingh/Lauryn John-Baptiste and Sammi Hampton/Marianna Argyrokastriti. In singles competition, No. 115 Hampton defeated Texas Tech's Nell Miller in a three-set showdown and Tereza Kolarova swept opponent Bojana Marinkov 6-4, 7-5.

Wichita State has come up short in their past three matches but arrives in Houston with doubles weapon #23 Sarvinoz Saidhujaeva/Marta Bellucco. The tandem is 5-3  this season. The Shockers also feature standout Freshman Jessie Zheng who leads the team in singles victories with a 5-3 record.

After a couple of postponed matches, Rice hosts both Wichita State and ASU at home. The Owls boast a perfect 4-0 home record and have only notched two losses on the season so far. Their most recent victory, a 4-3 defeat over Texas Tech, broke their eight-match losing streak against the Red Raiders. The contest also featured a knockout performance by Rice's Victoria Smirnova who defeated Texas Tech's No. 100 Kaitlin Staines in two straight sets, winning 6-4 in both sets.
