Scottsdale native Nathan Ponwith (5-0 singles, 4-1 doubles) received Pac-12 Player of the Week honors Thursday for his strong play in ASU's three matches last week. Ponwith is just the third Sun Devil to earn the conference accolade, following Michael Geerts twice in 2018 and Tim Ruehl once in 2019.

ASU is coming off a 6-1 home victory over in-state foe Northern Arizona last Sunday that improved the Maroon and Gold's perfect home record to 4-0. The Sun Devils came out the gates hot, with Christian Lerby/George Stoupe defeating NAU's Straker-Meads/Ziomber 6-1 and Nathan Ponwith/Max McKennon defeating Steele/Buzonics 6-3 to give the Sun Devils the doubles point and a 1-0 lead. Then, in singles play, Ponwith (6-2, 6-2) and sophomores Jonah Wilson (6-2, 6-1) and Tom Leblanc (6-3, 7-5) won in straight-sets to clinch the victory.
The Aggies are coming off a 4-1 home victory over Montana. NMSU and Montana elected to skip doubles play and went straight for singles where the Aggies took an early three-match lead before UM won on court three. NMSU clinched thnks to Nicolas Buitrago winning 6-4, 7-6 at No. 2.
Saturday will be the Aggies' second road contest of the year. Their roster features just two upperclassmen and five freshmen.
