Tuesday concluded the first Barbara Nicklaus Cup for the Sun Devil men's and women's golf teams in Dublin, OH, it was a strong finish for the Arizona State programs.

"We really enjoyed having the opportunity to compete in the inaugural Barbara Nicklaus Cup at Muirfield Village," Women's Golf Head Coach Missy Farr-Kaye remarked. "Mrs. (Barbara) Nicklaus, Ohio State University, and Muirfield Village Golf Club were amazing hosts.
 
The event lasted two days and featured for the first time both Sun Devil men's and women's golf teams competing together against Ohio State, Auburn and Florida State.

The Sun Devils grabbed four points against Florida State Tuesday morning after finishing Monday afternoon winning four points against Auburn.
 
Arizona State finished in second place with 12.5 points which included winning 10 matches and drawing in five of them over the course of two days. The Sun Devils finished behind Florida State which won the event with 16.5 points in the Barbara Nicklaus Cup at Muirfield Village Golf Club.
 
Getting wins against Florida State were Alexandra Forsterling (1UP), Johnston/Linner (1 UP) , Ashley Menne (3&2) and Anderson/Rosholt (1UP) Tuesday morning.
 
Leading the way for the women's golf team was Sun Devil Calynne Rosholt going a perfect 3-0 in her matches, followed by Breyana Matthews and A. Forsterling going 2-1 in their matches.
 
For the men's side it was Preston Summerhays, Mason Anderson and Kiko Coelho all going 2-1 to give the Sun Devils six points apiece for the event.
 
Next for the women's Sun Devil golf team is the Stanford Intercollegiate in Stanford, California starting on Oct.15, while the next event for the men's Sun Devil golf team is the Isleworth Invitational in Orlando, Florida beginning on Oct. 17.

"This was an amazing experience for all of our student athletes," Coach Farr-Kaye added. "It was also a great experience to compete with our men's team. I believe we learned a great deal this week from each other.  We have a short break before we head to Stanford for a stacked field."
