Sun Devil Athletics Senior Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator Christina Wombacher was inducted to the Yavapai College Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday.

Wombacher played basketball at Yavapai from 1996-98 and earned All-ACCAC honors twice while earning NJCAA All-Region and WBCA Kodak All-American honors as well. She left Yavapai as the all-time leading scorer (830 points – now second) and is fourth in career assists with 265. Her teams went 20-9 and 21-9, respectively, while at Yavapai.

Wombacher was promoted to her current position in February of this year. In that role she serves on the Pac-12 Council and is the SWA liaison to the Pac-12 Wrestling Coaches Committee. Her additional responsibilities include primary sport supervisor on women's basketball, volleyball and women's lacrosse, in addition to secondary responsibilities on beach volleyball and women's water polo.

Wombacher, who has been a member of SDA's administration since 2015, was named associate athletic director in 2019. In that position, she was a key player of the SDA Senior Management Team and primary staff resource to the Vice President for University Athletics.

Prior to joining SDA's administrative team, Wombacher worked with the Sun Devil women's basketball program – first as an administrative assistant and then director of operations – for 14 years.

Born and raised in Phoenix, Ariz., Wombacher graduated from Shadow Mountain High School before moving on to Yavapai. She concluded her basketball career at Boise State where she earned a B.S. in Kinesiology. She returned to her home state to earn her master's degree in Higher and Post Secondary Education from ASU while working for SDA.
