TEMPE - There's simply no stopping Turner Washington.

The redshirt junior out of Tucson earned his second U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Male National Athlete of the Week honor Tuesday for his performance at the Eugene, Oregon edition of the West Coast Classic last weekend.

Washington highlighted the day for the Sun Devils, winning both the shot and discus. His plate-throw went 66.26m/217-5, a six foot improvement on his program-leading personal record that was set just the week prior at Arizona's Jim Click Shootout. The throw also moves Washington to seventh on the USTFCCCA all-time list and is the best throw by a collegian since 2016. Washington's shot toss went 20.80m/68-2, a foot shy of his NCAA-leading PR but good enough to win the meet but over a meter.

Absolute. Monster.

Turner Washington just threw the discus 66.26m/217-4 to break his own program record for the second consecutive week.

He moves to sixth on the USTFCCCA all-time list. ?? ??

The accolades have been piling up for the NCAA Indoor Shot Put Champion. Washington is now celebrating his fourth athlete of the week nod this season. He earned both USTFCCCA Male Athlete of the Week honors and Pac-12 male field POTW honors in March after initially breaking the ASU discus record at Arizona's Willie Williams Classic, and picked up Pac-12 POTW honors again last week after one-upping his program record in the discus by a foot at Arizona's Jim Click Shootout.

Washington and the Sun Devils once again compete in Phoenix at Grand Canyon University this weekend. Field events kick off at 1 p.m. with the javelin while running events go at 4 p.m. with the 4x100.
