SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Sun Devil Women's Golf's Linn Grant was named the Pac-12 Golfer of the Month, the conference announced this week.

After putting together one of the most successful months in Pac-12 Golf history, Grant was named the top female golfer in the conference during the month of March.

"We are extremely proud of Linn for receiving this well-deserved recognition," Head Coach Missy Farr-Kaye remarked. "She has been playing really well, but this is just the beginning. We know she is hungry and focused on finishing the season strong."

She won her first two tournaments of the month, beating out a combined 149 golfers to earn individual medalist honors at the Clover Cup and Bruin Wave Invitational. She capped the month with a second-place finish at the PING/ASU Invitational, sealing her position as Pac-12 Golfer of the Month. She won the award by facing and besting elite competition, finishing ahead of a total of 40 individuals ranked in the Top-100 of the Golfstat in her three tournaments this month.

At the Clover Cup, Grant became only the second Sun Devil in program history to win four consecutive tournaments, a streak that dated back to a win last season at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational. She joined Brandie Burton from the legendary 1989-90 season, which resulted in Arizona State's first women's golf NCAA Championship.

She becomes the fourth Sun Devil to win Pac-12 Golfer of the Month in the Missy Farr-Kaye era. Grant finds herself on an exclusive and prestigious list, as past honorees included Olivia Mehaffey (April, 2019), Linnea Strom (April, 2016), and Monica Vaughn (February, 2016).
Despite the extremely challenging conditions at the Bruin Wave in which no golfer finished under par, Grant still managed to post a 71.0 scoring average across nine rounds. She finished at par-or-better in seven of those rounds, including four in the 60s. Here is a closer look at Linn Grant's incredible March:

GRANT PLACES SECOND AT PING/ASU INVITATIONAL
Linn Grant flirted with a fifth consecutive tournament victory for much of the final round, before falling just one stroke short to Northwestern's Kelly Sim for first place. Grant used a run of four birdies in six holes to climb back up the leaderboard on the final day, securing a second-place finish. The field featured 19 of the Top-100 ranked players according to Golfstat.

GRANT WINS CLOVER CUP
Linn Grant won the individual championship for the fifth time in her brief career. Dating back to a victory at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational last season, Grant won or shared individual medalist honors at five consecutive events, accomplishing an incredible feat. She shot 69 each day to finish at 9-under 207 to beat out a field filled with 10 golfers in the Golfstat Top-70 individual rankings.

Four of those events had ten or more teams, which puts her in elite company in program history. Grant's run of three straight individual titles entering the Clover Cup was the first since Sun Devil Athletics Hall of Famer Wendy Ward's historic 1995 run, when she claimed the PING/ASU Invitational, Pac-10 Conference Championship, and the NCAA West Regional Championship en route to the Sun Devil undefeated season.

GRANT WINS BRUIN WAVE
It was all Maroon & Gold in Southern California, as Linn Grant captured Individual Medalists honors as well. Arizona State swept the tournament hardware in a competitive field made up of 16-teams and 82-golfers.

For the second time, a Sun Devil claimed the Bruin Wave Individual Title, as Linn Grant held off Northwestern's Irene Kim for her third straight title. Grant showed poise and maturity down the stretch, handling challenging conditions better than anyone throughout the weekend. Not only did Grant finish with the best stroke average of anyone on par four holes, she also paced the field on par five opportunities.

The Viken, Sweden native's outstanding individual play has led to plenty of team success for Arizona State. The Sun Devils have won at least a share of all three tournaments they played in during the month of March. ASU has risen to as high as No. 4 in the national rankings during the month thanks to victories at extremely competitive events.

Grant continues to adds Conference Player of the Month distinction to her already impressive collegiate resume. She was recently named to the ANNIKA Award Final Watch List, making her one of 15 candidates for National Player of the Year. The returning First Team All-American as a freshman has somehow managed to exceed extremely high expectations. So far this season, she has four event titles and has finished no lower than second. She recently wrapped up another fantastic performance on a big stage, making the cut and finishing tied for 16th at the Augusta National Women's Amateur.
