SAN FRANCISCO – For the second time this season, Sarah Clark from Sun Devil Gymnastics was named the Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Week for her strong performance against Utah.
Arizona State has won at least one weekly award in three of the four weeks the Pac-12 has done awards this season. For Clark, this is her second freshman/newcomer of the week honor, the first coming on January 18. For the full release on the Pac-12 weekly award winners, head to the Pac-12 website.
Clark helped the Gym Devils score a 197.150 against Utah last weekend, their highest team score since 2006. She scored a 9.900 on bars, matching her career best, and earned a new career high on floor with a 9.875. Additionally, she scored a 9.850 on beam, a team high. She pushed ASU to season-high event totals on bars (49.350) and floor (49.400).
The Gym Devils are back on the road this weekend, taking on Cal on Sunday, February 14.
