Lauren John-Baptiste and the Sun Devils went 1-1 this weekend in Texas, leaving the ITA Kickoff Weekend tournament with a win against Iowa.

AUSTIN, Texas - The No. 20 ASU women's tennis team (2-1) concluded its weekend in Austin, Texas with a 4-0 sweep over unranked Iowa (0-2) Sunday morning on the final day of the ITA Kickoff Weekend. Sunday's victory featured the freshman/senior pair of Marianna Argyrokastriti and Sammi Hampton earning their third straight doubles win and straight-set victories from Argyrokastriti, Lauryn John-Baptiste and Tereza Kolarova.

"Really proud of how the girls bounced back from a tough loss yesterday and took it to Iowa today," head coach Sheila McInerney said. "Iowa is a much improved team this year and are well-coached so we knew it was important to be switched on all the way through. Credit to No. 1 doubles for clinching the doubles point today after a tough match yesterday and to No. 3 doubles for taking care of business again. Singles was a total team effort and everyone competed hard at their spot, which is what we always ask for."
