MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- After being on the road for 58 of the last 70 days, Sun Devil Hockey (5-13-2) wrapped up this most recent 23-day road trip with another tough loss to No. 4 Minnesota (13-3-0) on Friday afternoon at 3M Arena at Mariucci.
Redshirt junior Chris Grando tallied his third goal of the season to tie the game at one in the first period, and while freshmen forward Michael Mancinelli's goal to end the 2nd brought the game within two, the Golden Gophers again ran away with the lead to a 10-2 victory.
"It is what it is -- we just don't have anything in the tank. We had some guys really go hard tonight but it's unfortunate that the third got away," said head coach Greg Powers. "No team has the depth to sustain what we have to get through right now."
The Sun Devils will head back to Tempe for their only home games of the season against the U.S NTDP U-18 Team on Feb. 4 and 5 at Oceanside Ice Arena.

QUOTES OF THE NIGHT
- "We had a handful of guys play hard and battle, and really, really empty the tanks. Just like I said last night, we have five guys in the lineup right now that shouldn't be playing, and no team has the depth to sustain what we have to get through right now against obviously a very, very, very good hockey team who's clicking on all cylinders." -Head coach Greg Powers on the series
- "That's a hell of a team and they were really good this weekend -- they needed to be, they just got swept. And we just don't have anything in the tank, we had some guys really go hard tonight. But, you know, it's unfortunate that that third got away." -Head coach Greg Powers on Minnesota
