TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Football Head Coach Herm Edwards will be a part of the College Football Playoff National Championship MegaCast, joining the broadcast on ESPN Monday, January 11.

The game will be showcased through state-of-the-art technology on ESPN, with the network's best innovation deployed for the presentation of No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 3 Ohio State at 6 p.m. MST. ESPN's main telecast will headline the MegaCast production, as ESPN offers 14 total presentations of the CFP National Championship Game across ESPN networks.

Sun Devil Football Head Coach Herm Edwards will be joined virtually by John Parry (former NFL referee) and Matt Austin (former SEC referee) as well as ESPN commentator Jason Benetti to break down the game. Edwards teams up with ESPN again after having worked there prior to his hiring at Arizona State, originally joining the company in March 2009 as a NFL studio analyst.

Hard Rock Stadium will be the hub of ESPN's innovation on Championship Monday, including approximately 100 cameras providing every angle of college football's biggest night. More than 100 microphones will be placed throughout the stadium, capturing the sounds of the game and atmosphere of the crowd, enhancing the game telecast.

Coming off a 2020 season that ended in a two-game winning streak, Edwards and the Sun Devils have momentum heading into next year. Arizona State claimed the Territorial Cup for the 8th time in the past 11 matchups, scoring a series-record 70 points in the victory. ASU put up 70 points for the first time since 1969. Edwards moved to 3-0 against the Wildcats to start his career, becoming just the fifth coach in program history to accomplish the feat. The explosive offense and opportunistic defense shined in the season finale against Oregon State, with the offensive line paving the way for 375 yards on the ground. The Sun Devil defense caused opponents fits, having now forced 34 turnovers in the last 11 games dating back to 2019.
