Five current Sun Devils are ready to tee it up at the U.S. Amateur that begins play Monday (August 10) at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Ore.

Blake Wagoner, Mason Andersen, Cameron Sisk, Ryggs Johnston and James Leow are part of the 264-player field that will play 18 holes on both Monday and Tuesday with hope of moving on to the Round of 64 that starts on Wednesday (Aug. 12). Match play continues with 18 hole matches each day until the final on Sunday that is 36 holes.

Three Sun Devils have won the U.S. Amateur title, with the last win by a Sun Devil coming 20 years ago when Eugene, Ore., native Jeff Quinney beat James Driscoll in 39 holes in New Jersey.

Sisk -- a third-team All-American in 2019-20 who also has a 3.65 grade point average -- will begin his junior season in 2020-21 with the third-best career scoring average by a Sun Devil in the Golfstat era (70.92 in in 61 rounds), behind only Jon Rahm (70.21 in 165 rounds from 2012-16) and Chun An Yu (70.40 in 116 from 2016-20). He started with medalist honors at Maui Jim Intercollegiate (Sept. 13-15, 2019) with a 14-under 196 at the Mirabel Golf Club in Scottsdale.

Andersen enters his junior year with a 71.48 stroke average in 34 career tournaments and he earned All-Pac-12 first-team honors in 2018-19.

Wagoner returns for a sixth year thanks to the NCAA and has played in 44 tournaments and posted 63 rounds under par and 28 in the 60. He has a 72.27 stroke average and has five top-five finishes and had three top-10 finishes in six appearances in senior year before the coronavirus ended the season.

Johnston was on his way to a very impressive freshman season before it was cancelled.

James Leow won the individual tournament at the Southeast Asian Games on Dec. 6, bringing home Singapore's first individual gold in the event in 30 years. Leow shot 7-under-65 in the final round at the Luisita Golf and Country Club. His 13-under-203 placed him top of the leaderboard by a stroke. He won the 39-player Arizona Medalist Intercollegiate on Jan. 28-29, 2019, with a 13-under 203 (67-70-66=203).
