As we are all processing the Pac-12's announcement to postpone fall sports, I wanted to reach out to ensure you all know, I recognize the entire Sun Devil community is extremely affected by the decision. Although this was not what we have all been hoping for, we have made it unmistakably clear, our student-athlete's health and well-being will be at the forefront of every decision. Yesterday's news is just another example of our conference's commitment to our student-athletes and their safety.
In the moment, our focus remains on our student-athletes, especially those who participate in fall sports. They have been working hard and preparing for their seasons. We are working with our coaches and committed support staff to advance plans for their continued development in all facets of their experience as student-athletes at ASU. While they will not be starting competitions in the next few weeks, we look forward with anticipation to when the medicine and science allows them to do so.
Together, as the Sun Devil Family, we also need to continue to support one another as we work through these challenging times. Your ongoing support has meant so much to our student-athletes and staff the last several months and we need to continue to band together to ensure our student-athletes continue to receive the support they need to achieve their academic and athletic goals. As we've communicated since Spring, we will continue to remain flexible in our ticket and donation options for our fans, especially as it pertains to seat related transactions for contests that are no longer scheduled. In the coming days, please be on the lookout for additional information regarding your accounts.
We wanted nothing more to kick-off our fall season on-time and put hard charging Pac-12 teams on the field, pitch, court and course. However we must yield until we have answers to medical questions that at this point are simply unknown. Until then, we will do everything within our power to return to competition.
