SAN FRANCISCO – Three student-athletes from Arizona State gymnastics received All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention nods as announced by the conference on Wednesday.
The three recognized are Juliette Boyer, Cairo Leonard-Baker and Gracie Reeves. With those nods, Arizona State has had at least one gymnast honored by the Pac-12 in each of the last three seasons. This is the first year that the Pac-12 has had honorable mentions for gymnastics. Due to the cancellation of the Pac-12 Gymnastics Championship, all of the All-Pac-12 awards are based on the Road to Nationals rankings.
Leonard-Baker earned Pac-12 honors for her third season in a row as she made the honorable mention list for uneven bars. She has earned recognition for her strong bars performance in each of her three years at ASU. She was ranked No. 7 in the Pac-12 and No. 19 in the nation. Against Washington, she scored a season-high 9.950, the highest score by any ASU gymnast in 2020 in any event. On bars, she scored a 9.900 or better five times and only scored below a 9.825 once. She won five bars titles this season.
Two freshmen received recognition for how they stepped up for the team in 2020. In the all-around, Boyer and Reeves were on the honorable mention list, ranked No. 7 and No. 8, respectively, in the Pac-12. Boyer competed in the all-around eight times, scoring a career-high 39.350 in the final meet of the year against Pittsburgh. She scored above a 39.000-plus five times and won one all-around title. For Reeves, she competed in the all-around seven times, surpassing 39.000 in three meets. Her best score was a 39.350 she earned against Washington, which she earned an individual title for.
