Boyer received this honor for the first time and is the second Sun Devil to be named freshman of the week after Hannah Scharf earned the nod on February 25. Overall, it is the third Pac-12 weekly honor of the season. Fifth-year senior Morgan Wilson was named the Pac-12 Coaches' Choice of the Week back on February 6. With three weekly awards, this is the most for ASU in a single season since 2018 when Cairo Leonard-Baker was the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week five times.

In the last two meets, Boyer helped ASU beat No. 24 Arizona on the road and finish the home season with a win over Pittsburgh. She won four individual titles in those meets: two on bars, one on floor and one in the all-around. In the win against Pitt, she earned career highs on bars (9.900), beam (9.800), floor (9.900) and in the all-around (39.350). With her help, the Gym Devils scored a 49.400 on bars, the highest bars score by an ASU team since 2006. She also played a big part in Arizona State jumping up 14 spots in the Road to Nationals rankings to No. 21.
