TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil men's tennis is back at home for just the second time in February, welcoming undefeated UNLV to the Whiteman Tennis Center. First serve is set for 4 p.m. MST on Friday, Feb. 28.
Admission to the Whiteman Tennis Center is free to fans, and aside from watching a solid matchup, tomorrow's match will also feature a halftime giveaway presented by Whataburger.
The Rebels currently sit at 10-0 on the season, playing against Northern Arizona who the Sun Devils also defeated last time they were at home earlier this month. Their trip to Tempe is also the first road trip of the season for the Rebels as they had hosted all matches in Las Vegas up until now.
In contrast, the Sun Devils have been on the road for the majority of February, taking on the Lumberjacks at home on Feb. 1 and have been away ever since. ASU travelled to Columbus to take on the second-ranked Ohio state, and jumped on over to Michigan for a 7-0 sweeping win over Michigan State.
Finishing up their long road trip in College Station, ASU faced off against a tough No. 13 Texas A&M team before returning home.
Doubles has been a strong suit for the Sun Devils through the first month of the season, with No. 12 Tim Ruehl/Andrea Bolla cementing themselves as one of the top in collegiate tennis early on. The duo has won four of their last five matches including taking down the No. 1 ranked tandem in the nation from Ohio State.
Another pair as turned heads this season as well in the freshman duo of George Stoupe and Christian Lerby. The men won their first doubles match of the season in a 6-0 fashion and haven't stopped since, amassing a 4-2 record to tie Ruehl and Bolla for the most wins on the Sun Devils.
Action between the Rebels and Sun Devils is set for a 4 p.m. start tomorrow at the Whiteman Tennis Center. As always, admissions to Sun Devil Tennis is free, and fans can keep up with the action by following @SunDevilMTennis on Twitter.
