IRVINE, Calif. - The No. 5 Arizona State women's water polo team is prepared to return to California this weekend for the UC Irvine Barbara Kalbus Invitational. The three-day tournament, which will see games played at the UC Irvine Anteater Aquatics Complex and at nearby Corona Del Mar High School, begins on Friday. The Sun Devils will take on MPSF foe San Jose State in the first of their four games on Friday at 3 p.m. PST/4 p.m. MST at the Anteater Aquatics Complex. 

ASU is coming off of a bye week after finishing third at the UCSD Triton Invitational two weeks ago. The Sun Devils pulled off two upset wins during the tournament to advance to the semifinals and improved to 9-2 on the season. Borbala Kekesi and Eszter Kiss were recognized with MPSF weekly honors following their strong play at UCSD.

SCOUTING SAN JOSE STATE
The No. 13 Spartans are coming off an 8-7 win at UC Davis and sit at 4-7 on the season. ASU and SJSU split their two contests last season, as the Spartans took a 9-7 win in the first matchup and the Sun Devils came away with an 18-12 win at the MPSF Tournament to close the season. 

THE TOURNAMENT OPPONENTS
Every one of the 16 teams in the tournament is ranked in this week's CWPA Top 25, including all  of the teams ranked in the top 10. Six of the seven MPSF teams will participate in the tournament, excluding Indiana. The Sun Devils have already faced four of the tournament's teams this season - UCSD, UCLA, UC Irvine and Hawai'i.
