TEMPE, Ariz. - Highly touted international swimmers Léon Marchand and Charli Brown headline the 2021-2022 signing class for the Sun Devil Swimming and Diving team. The two are joined by Americans Angelia Harris, Izabella Adame and Ileeya Losey along with Canadian swimmer Hana Edwards.

One of the top ranked recruits in his graduating class, Marchand won the bronze medal in the 400 IM at the 2019 World Juniors with a time of 4:16.37, which broke the French national record. Marchand also won the bronze medal in the 200 breast at the 2019 European Juniors with a time of 2:12, and finished tenth at the World Juniors.
 
He also holds French national age group records in the 50 breast, 200 breast, 200 fly, 200 IM, and 400 IM.
 
"Léon Marchand will give us a very strong presence in the IM and breaststroke events at the PAC-12 and NCAA levels. He has very high goals internationally and is one of the world's best junior swimmers," head coach Bob Bowman said. "We're very excited to welcome him to the Sun Devil Family!"

The Sun Devils have signed five female swimmers to their roster as well.

"This outstanding class of women signees will be instrumental in achieving our PAC-12 and NCAA goals. They represent a talented, positive, hard working group who will contribute to the team in a wide range of events," associate head coach Rachel Stratton-Mills said. "We look forward to having these 5 women join the Sun Devil Family!"

The highest-ranked Australian in the 2020 class, Brown, was the Australian age group champion. Brown won the 400 IM, took second in the 200 IM, third in the 200 free and 400 free, and fifth in the 100 free. At the 2019 World Junior Championships, Brown represented Team Australia in the 400 IM and finished eleventh overall.

A New York native who swam for the Three Village Swim Club, Harris was a Junior Nationalist Finalist placing fourteenth in the 200 breast at the 2019 Junior National Championship. Harris attended Miller Place High School and was a six-time New York Federation Championship finalist placing fourth in the 200 IM and sixth in the 100 breast in her junior season.
 
Harris was named a member of USA Swimming's Scholastic All-American team in 2018 and 2019.

A 2020 U.S. Olympic Team trial qualifier in the 100 breast, Adame is a four-time CIF Southern Division 1 Section Championship finalist placing second in the 100 breast and fourth in the 100 fly during her sophomore season.
 
At the California State Championship she finished third in the 100 breast, tenth in the 100 fly and fifth in the medley relay. She has also competed at he Speedo Junior Nationals placing ninth in the 100 breast with a personal best of 1:10.84.

The highly talented swimmer out of California placed fifth in the 100 free and 200 free in the California CIF Southern Division 1 Section Championship. Losey also competed in the USA Swimming Futures Championship where she finished in sixth place in the 200 free and was named a 2018 NISCA All-American.

Hana Edwards - Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Making her way down south to Tempe, the Canadian native is ranked first in British Columbia. Edwards placed first in both the 100 and 200 back while placing second in the 50 breast and third in the 100 breast at the 2017 British Columbia AAA Long Course Championships. That same year she placed second in the 200 back and sixth in the 400 IM at the Canadian Eastern Swimming Championships.
 
Edwards also ranks first out of nineteen swimmer squad at Uvic-Pacific Coast Swimming and 35th individually among Canadian club swimmers.
