CORALVILLE, Iowa –Arizona State redshirt senior Anthony Valencia (47 kg) earned four hard fought wins in four rounds of Men's Freestyle at Senior Nationals Saturday to capture a position in the 47 kg championship while Sun Devil alumni Tanner Hall will compete in the heavyweight weight championship Sunday afternoon.

Valencia put on a thriller in the semifinals and defeated Wisconsin Badger No. 2 Evan Wick by a 10-8 superiority with two seconds remaining in the second period. The bout was led by Wick before Valencia flipped the tables to acquire four points.

Tomorrow he will face first-seed wrestler and Michigan University alumni, Logan Massa.

Last season, his teammate and brother Zahid Valencia was crowned champion of the 86 kg weight class as A. Valencia captured fifth place in 47 kg.

Valencia earned a first round bye before he pummeled his opponent---holding him scoreless in the round of 32. The third-seed wrestler was challenged by Hayden Hidlay of North Carolina State, but with an early lead Valencia held on throughout the bout for a 13-9 victory to cement his position in the semifinal match.
