@SunDevilVB Announces Three Additions To The 2020 Roster

TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State volleyball has signed three to National Letters of Intent (NLI) who will join the 2020 roster: Roberta Rabelo, Ella Snyder and Claudia Stahlke.

"I'm super excited about the incoming class," Arizona State head coach Sanja Tomasevic said. "We are replacing our seniors, who are the original fighters of this program, and we are hoping to continue to grow the culture with the kids that are coming in." 

The Sun Devils will bring in two newcomers next season from different states and countries. All three will join Arizona State in 2020, with Rabelo coming to campus this month. 

Roberta Rabelo
Porto Alegre, Brazil | Grêmio Náutico União  | Outside hitter | 6-0 

• Helped her team to earn the Champion of the State Cup.
• Took second place at the Brazilian National Cup, where she was named MVP.
• Also named as an all-state player and the best spiker of the Cup.
• Parents are Jorge and Simone.
• Hopes to pursue a career in social media communications that will allow her to work all around the world.
• Will start with the team in January 2020.
• She will be the fourth Brazilian to play for Arizona State volleyball. 

Tomasevic: "Roberta has a good arm, played middle before, so she has the ability to play middle or outside. I'm excited to get to coach her and I hope she can bring her Brazilian mentality to never quit, never give up, and be passionate about everything she does."

Ella Snyder 
Manhattan Beach, California | Mira Costa High school | Setter | 6-0

• Has played on varsity for Mira Costa for the last two seasons.
• Named to the all-tournament team at Dave Mohs.
• Named the MVP at the senior banquet.
• Played for Tstreet Volleyball Club and has been a team captain since 2017.
• Earned Honor Roll in each year of high school.
• Parents are Richard and Janiece, and she has three siblings: Samantha, Lily and twin brother Luke.
• Her mother played volleyball at LMU and her sister played volleyball at Maryland. Her twin brother Luke has committed to play volleyball at Penn State.
• Hopes to pursue a career in real estate and finance.

Tomasevic: "Ella comes from a volleyball family, good volleyball club in California. She has played high level volleyball her whole life. I'm excited for her to join us. She's very familiar with what we are teaching. I'm looking forward to her growing with us and leading us to more wins next season."

Claudia Stahlke 
Waconia, Minnesota | Mayer Lutheran High School | Middle blocker | 6-2

• Led her high school team to two state championships in Minnesota in 2016 and 2017.
• Named to the AVCA All-American Watchlist.
• Two-time Minnesota State High School Volleyball Coaches Association Class A All-State.
• Two-time Class A Showcase All-Tournament Team and Minnesota River All-Conference
• Played for Vital Volleyball Club.
• Took fifth place at AAU Nationals with her club team.
• Also competed in the AAU Championship for beach volleyball.
• Went to Team USA High Performance Training at the youth level.
• Academic High Honor Roll.
• Parents are Gary and Cathy, has one older sister named Liv and one younger brother named Weston.
• Hopes to pursue either dentistry or criminology. 

Tomasevic: "Claudia adds depth to the middle position. She is a good kid from a good family. She adds size to our roster. I'm looking forward to having her on the team and seeing her grow as a Sun Devil."
