TEMPE, Ariz. -- Bouncing off a big road win at No. 6 Clarkson, No. 12 Sun Devil Hockey returns home to host Robert Morris for the first time in program history in a two-game series at Oceanside Ice Arena this weekend.

The Sun Devils (16-9-3) are riding high as of late, winning six of their last eight contests and both losses coming by just a goal. Robert Morris came out of the gates hot at 7-4-0 before going 2-8-3 in their last 13.

"We are excited to play a program that we have never played," said head coach Greg Powers. "Derek has done a tremendous job with Robert Morris and they have proven over the years they can beat anyone they play. Our guys will have to be very good to have success this weekend."

Sun Devil Rewind
The Sun Devils are coming into the weekend against Robert Morris after splitting a competitive series against No. 6 Clarkson in which both games went to overtime -- the sixth and seventh time ASU has gone into extra time this season. The Devils have also won six of their last eight with their two losses coming by a goal and one in overtime.

Co-captains Tyler Busch and Brinson Pasichnuk answered the bell in the Sun Devils' big road win on Saturday, as both recorded multi-point games with Busch scoring the game-winner off a shot from Brinson. Busch now has eight points in his last five games with three being multi-point games. Brinson has four multi-point games in his last eight.

Brinson and linemate Josh Maniscalco rank in the top-10 among national defensemen in points, while Maniscalco's nine goals rank second.

Linemates Johnny Walker and James Sanchez continue to sit among the top-10 point producers in the country as they are tied for 8th. Sanchez's 21 assists rank him 8th while Walker's 15 goals have him sitting right outside the top-10 for goals.

Collegiate Colonialism
After starting their season 7-4-0, Robert Morris has fallen from grace with a 2-8-3 record since mid November. That stretch included one-goal losses to Michigan Tech and Penn State, while handing Army its first loss of the season.

It's the first meeting between these two programs, despite ASU playing in RMU's Three Rivers Classic in December 2017.

The Colonials' special teams struggled this past weekend, going 0-for-9 on the power play and allowing six power-play goals in 11 attempts. However, their penalty kill has been one of their strongest areas this season, ranking 18th in the country.

Netminder Justin Kapelmaster -- a transfer from Ferris State -- boasts a .933 save percentage, which ranks 8th among Division I goaltenders.

Puck drop both Friday and Saturday night will be at 7:05 p.m. MST. Saturday's game will be featured on the Pac-12 Plus Live Stream while Friday will be available on ASU Live Stream.
