TEMPE – The newly ranked Sun Devil women's tennis team gets back in action at home this weekend as it welcomes San Diego and UNLV to the Whiteman Tennis Center Friday and Sunday.

No. 14 Arizona State is coming off of a successful and historic weekend of competition in Nashville, Tennessee, where the Devils remained perfect on the season with wins over Northwestern and No. 9 Vanderbilt to advance to the ITA Indoor National Championships.

While the prestigious national tournament will take place in Chicago next weekend, this weekend the Devils will face the San Diego Toreros and UNLV Rebels as a precursor to indoor nationals.

San Diego is making its first trek to Tempe since the 2017 season. The Valley hasn't been the best trip for the Toreros as they have yet to win at the Whiteman Tennis Center. Overall, ASU is 17-0 against San Diego, home or away, and has swept its way to a victory in each of the last two meetings.

As for the Rebels, ASU holds a 19-0 advantage and last defeated them 4-2 back in 2018 when they visited Tempe.

Both squads are coming off a tough Kickoff weekend where the Toreros dropped two to No. 10 Oklahoma State and 24th-ranked Wake Forest, while UNLV fell to a sixth-ranked Pepperdine squad and Arizona.

Friday's match with San Diego will take place at 1:30 p.m. MST and the Sunday finale against the Rebels will get going at noon. The two visiting teams will play a neutral-site match Saturday at noon, and all three matches are free to the public.
