TEMPE, Ariz. – No. 25 Sun Devil men's tennis returns home to the friendly confines of the Whiteman Tennis Center this weekend, taking on the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks on Saturday at 2 p.m. The home match is one of just two in the month of February for the Sun Devils.

The matchup between ASU and NAU is the first for the two squads since reinstatement in 2018. The Sun Devils hold the upper hand in the all-time series record, with ASU staking a dominating 20-1 record last facing off in 2007 resulting in a 6-1 win for ASU.

ASU returns home after a trip to Knoxville for ITA Kickoff Weekend hosted by Tennessee this past weekend. They found themselves suffering two hard-fought losses against top-20 teams in No. 16 Tennessee and No. 14 Oklahoma State. They look to turn the tide Saturday against the Lumberjacks.

Freshman George Stoupe continued his solid start to the season owning a team-best 2-1 record in singles play. His 6-4, 6-2 win in ASU's match against OSU put the Sun Devils in a crucial point to potentially clinch the match, showcasing his ability to stay calm under pressure in just his fourth match in his collegiate career.

Two other Sun Devils have notched two wins including fellow freshman Christian Lerby and junior Andrea Bolla. The aforementioned freshmen are also dominating in doubles play as a tandem, taking a team-best 2-1 record with each other.

The Saturday match is one of only two home matches for the Sun Devils in the month of February as they head to No. 6 Ohio State, Michigan State and No. 9 Texas A&M before returning home to Tempe on February 28.

Action against the Lumberjacks is set for a 2 p.m. MST start. Live stats and a live stream will be available, and fans can keep up with the action all season long by following @SunDevilMTennis.
