RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – The action wrapped up at the 2020 ANA Inspiration, as the five Sun Devils completed their final round on Sunday afternoon at Dinah Shore Tournament Course in Mission Hills Country Club.
All five Sun Devils previously made the cut after two rounds, allowing them to participate in the final 36 holes. Thanks to their solid finishes, four individuals combined to make over $75,000 in prize money at the first LPGA Major in the United States this season.
Carlota Ciganda (2009-11) led the group with a Top-25 finish, carding a 284 (-4) for the tournament to finish in a tie for 24th. Ciganda entered Sunday sitting just three strokes out of the lead, but settled for a nice consolation of over $30,000. Her third-round score of 67 (-5) was the lowest of any Sun Devil at the event.
Linnea Strom (2016-17) enjoyed another solid finish on the LPGA Tour, earning over $22,000 after tying for 32nd. She followed up a Top-10 finish in her last appearence with another finish under par, posting a 286 (-2). She was responsible for one of the two rounds in the 60s recorded by a Sun Devil(2nd round; 69).
Anna Nordqvist (2007-09) and Azahara Munoz (2006-09) combined to win over $20,000 thanks to their finishing positions, as Sun Devil Women's Golf alums continue to rack up prize money at LPGA and other professional events.
Sun Devil Women's Golf senior Olivia Mehaffey has already made five professional appearances despite her amateur status. Showing the poise and skill that Arizona State golf fans have become accustomed to seeing over the years, the four-time All-American made the cut after two rounds at a professional event, giving her the opportunity to gain valuable experience.
What makes Mehaffey's feat even more impressive is that she accomplished this feat at a LPGA Major event, competing amongst some of the top-ranked golfers from around the World. She ended the weekend as one of only five amateurs left standing, finishing in a tie for 74th. Her second-round performance will be one to remember, as she battled hazy conditions in California to card a clutch 71 (-1) to secure her spot above the cut line.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
A loaded roster awaits Mehaffey when she eventually comes back to ASU, as every member of the 2019-20 team returns to Tempe. With highly-touted freshmen Ashley Menne and Breyana Matthews are added to the fold, the Sun Devils will boast one of the most talented and deep rosters in the country. Under the direction of three-time National Champion Missy Farr-Kaye and newly-promoted Associate Head Coach Michelle Estill, the team will receive the proper coaching and guidance that it takes to succeed at the highest level. Fans of the Sun Devil Women's Golf program have a lot to be excited about.

The LPGA Tour continues with the Cambia Portland Classic taking place September 17-20, from Columbia Edgewater Country Club. This will be the 49th edition of the event, making it the longest running non-major on the LPGA Tour. It wouldn't be an LPGA event with a heavy presence of Sun Devil Women's Golf, as six individuals with connections to the program will be competing in the event. 2017 National Champion Roberta Liti (2015-18) and former Pac-12 Golfer of the Year Giulia Molinaro (2009-12) will be joined by LPGA regulars Carlota Ciganda, Anna Nordqvist, Azahara Munoz, and Linnea Strom in Portland.
