LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Arizona State's non-conference contest with UNLV scheduled for Sept. 12 will take place at Allegiant Stadium, UNLV Director of Athletics Desiree Reed-Francois announced earlier today.
The first road matchup for the Sun Devils against the Rebels in school history will be hosted at the $2 billion home of the Las Vegas Raiders and UNLV, which is currently under construction near campus. When the teams take the field on Sept. 12, it will represent only the second meeting between the two programs. UNLV welcomes California to Las Vegas for its season opener on Aug. 29, making the matchup with ASU just the second collegiate game to take place at the newly-constructed stadium.
Arizona State travels to Las Vegas as part of a three-game non-conference schedule that includes a pair of home contests. First, the Sun Devils host in-state foe Northern Arizona on Thursday, Sept. 3. Two weeks later, the Maroon and Gold face-off with BYU at Sun Devil Stadium for the first time since 1998 on Sept. 19. Coach Herm Edwards' squad will then navigate through the Pac-12 Conference schedule, which includes home games against Oregon State, UCLA, California, and Utah.
