TEMPE, Ariz. - Sun Devil Athletics Director of Sports Nutrition Amber Yudell was elected to serve on the Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association (CPSDA) Board of Directors, as announced by CPSDA on Tuesday.

Yudell was the only new member peer nominated and elected to join the nine-person board for a two-year renewable term. She will begin her board term in May during CPSDA's Annual Conference and will serve in the role through the 2021-22 academic year. Her official role with the board is to be determined, and will be decided internally amongst the board to optimize the group's strengths.

The CPSDA Board of Directors works to identify and carry out the strategic mission of the organization. CPSDA is a national not-for-profit, 1,467 member organization that represents the vast majority of advanced practice registered dietitians in the United States who work full time with athletes in colleges, professional sports, Olympic training centers, the U.S. Military and in law enforcement.

Yudell, who has worked at ASU since 2014 and in her current role since 2017, leads sports nutrition for Sun Devil Athletics. The department works to impact the health and performance of ASU student-athletes at the individual and team level, overseeing nutrition education, centralized fueling strategies, nutrition counseling, dietary supplement security, and more.

Yudell received both her bachelor's and master's degrees in kinesiology with a focus in exercise physiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is a Registered Dietitian and a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics.
