FEDERAL WAY, Wash – No. 10 Arizona State men's swimming is back in action tomorrow, traveling to the 2020 Pac-12 Men's Swimming Championships in Washington. The championship runs Wednesday through Saturday with finals action broadcast on Pac-12 Network channels.
The men are back in action after nearly a month off, last competing against Arizona on Feb. 8. ASU defeated the Wildcats by a hefty 110 points in the matchup with the Sun Devils looking to take home the Territorial Cup Series point this weekend by finishing above Arizona in the final standings.
Several men look to make a splash at the conference championships with many placing times good for top-10 in the conference. Zach Poti headlines the group, as his time of 45.75 in the 100 back stands at the fastest time in the conference in the event he looks to defend his 2019 conference crown in. Poti also holds the second-best time in the 200 back, less than half of a second behind the No. 1 spot from Cal.
Underclassmen litter the list including sophomore Cody Bybee who holds the eighth best time in the 50 free, sixth in the 100 free, fourth in the 200 free and fourth in the 100 fly. A couple freshmen join the list in Jack Dolan (ninth in the 50 free and sixth in the 200 free) and Alex Colson (ninth in the 200 fly).
Diver Youssef Selim competed at the men's diving championship last week, taking a podium finish in the one-meter springboard. Selim placed second in the event, and following with a fourth place finish in both three-meter and platform events.
