COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Sun Devil men's tennis faced No. 13 Texas A&M today, dropping their top-15 match 5-0 at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.

"I thought we were really competitive in doubles because we won on court three and were in a good spot to win the first court as well," coach Matt Hill said. "Credit to Texas A&M, because they played really well today."

The Aggies took the first doubles win on court two, however, the freshman duo of George Stoupe and Christian Lerby equalized things with a win on court three. The win is their fourth as a pair on the season, the most on the team. A&M took a win on court one to secure the first point.

"Christian and George play really good doubles together because they work well together," Hill said. "I thought, today specifically, Christian played really well in doubles. He just took over and was the best doubles player on the court."

Heading into doubles play with a 1-0 deficit, the Sun Devils looked to turn the tide with six opportunities to do so. Ruehl and freshman Tom LeBlanc led early in their first sets while Lerby battled into a third set but was left unfinished.

"Tom and Christian competed and played really well against a really good team," Hill said, "That's good to see from two young guys competing against this caliber of a team."

A&M took a win on court six first and followed with wins on courts four and two to clinch the victory. However, the teams decided to play out court one with it falling in favor of the Aggies to bring it to the final of 5-0.

"In singles, half of the courts didn't get off to a good start meaning we dug ourselves into a hole early," Hill said. "Two of those courts did a good job of competing and playing their game in the latter half, but unfortunately at that point it was too late to pull ourselves out of the hole."

The Sun Devils are back in action at home for the first time in almost a whole month, coming back to the friendly confines of the Whiteman Tennis Center to take on UNLV. The match is set for Feb. 28 at 4 p.m. MST, and fans can keep up with the action all season long by following @SunDevilMTennis on Twitter.
