BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In a top-15 matchup inside a sold-out Leeman-Turner Arena, the No. 4 Sun Devil wrestling team (14-2) saw its nine-match win streak get snapped as Lehigh won six of the 10 matches to defeat the Devils, 19-14 on Friday night.
The Mountain Hawks jumped out to 12-0 to start off the night with four straight decision victories.
In a top-15 matchup at 157, No. 12 ranked Jacori Teemer picked up a late reversal in the final 10 seconds of the match to defeat No. 8 Josh Humphreys, 8-6, to get ASU on the board. The win is Teemer's 14th of the season and second top-15 victory in his first season with the Sun Devils.
Senior Josh Shields (165) added five more points to the team total to get the Devils within striking distance with four matches to go.
Anthony Valencia would drop a top-10 showdown to No. 3 Jordan Kutler at 174, while Cade Belshay (184) would surrender a major decision loss to No. 16 Chris Weiler.
Kordell Norfleet and Tanner Hall finished out the night with a pair of decision wins to conclude the match.
Next up, ASU will head to face North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Sunday in the Sun Devils final dual meet of the season at noon MST. Fans will have the chance to watch the meet live on ACC Network Extra.
