TEMPE, Ariz. – To kick off a two-week homestand, Arizona State gymnastics will host No. 4 UCLA on Saturday at 3 p.m. MST in the Maroon Monsoon meet in Desert Financial Arena.
Arizona State (4-5) scored its best road score of 2020 with the 195.600 earned at Oregon State. ASU took third to No. 9 LSU and No. 22 Oregon State, who scored a 196.800 and 196.700, respectively. Junior Cairo Leonard-Baker earned a 9.900 on bars, her second time this year getting a 9.900 or better on bars. For Arizona State, this was the third 9.900-plus of the season.
In the Sun Devils' last home meet, they took down No. 10 Cal by scoring a season-high 196.300. That night, multiple gymnasts earned career highs after feeding off of the home crowd energy. Freshman Gracie Reeves earned career highs in all three events she competed that meet (vault, bars and beam).
Saturday's theme is the Bring the Heat and Maroon Monsoon meet. There will be free light-up devil horns for the first 200 fans, and there will be a DJ at the meet to pump up the crowd. Those attending are encouraged to wear maroon. For those not attending, the meet will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 Network.
