TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil swimming announced the addition of two signees today, adding Marte Lovberg and Gordon Mason to their incoming class next fall. The two join an already talented incoming class set to begin their athletic and academic careers at Arizona State in August.
Lovberg is a Norwegian national joining the Sun Devils after a solid start to her swim career highlighted by a selection to the Norwegian team for the European Games. She currently holds two Norwegian relay records, including anchoring the Norwegian record setting performance in the 400m free relay as well as swimming the third leg of the record setting 200m free relay.
Mason is an incoming freshman training in California who has competed in several high-profile American races including the Toyota U.S. Open and the USA Swimming Winter National Championships. He primarily specializes in the distance freestyle events and is a world-class swimmer in open water events, even representing Great Britain for the 2019 World Championships in the 5K.
Sun Devil men's and women's swimming and diving is back in action this Saturday, taking on Arizona in their final home meet of the season. Senior day festivities are slated for an 11:30 a.m. MST start, while the meet will kick off at noon MST.
