The Sun Devil men's golf team opened its spring season at the Southwestern Invitational at North Ranch Country Club (par-72/6,992 yards) in West Lakes Village, Calif., and tied for second with USC to host Pepperdine.
ASU shot a 5-under 283 in the final round, the fourth-best round of the tournament, led by Chun An Yu who shot a 3-under 69 and finished third at 5-under 211 (74-68-69). Senior Blake Wagoner tied for eighth at even-par 216 (70-74-72).
ASU finished at 3-over 867 (293-291-283) led the tournament in pars with 159 led by An Yu who had 37, second-most in the tournament.
NOTES: Freshman Ryggs Johnston had an eagle on the par-5 474 yard 15th hole in the first round...junior Mason Andersen tied for 18th playing as an individual at 2-over 218 (71-74-73).

After a year without a tournament, Pepperdine then took over hosting duties in 2016 and merged it with its own home tournament, which had been played at a few different sites.
