TEMPE, Ariz. – The Sun Devil Lacrosse program has finalized their 2020 schedule, with Coach McCormack unafraid to challenge the team during his first season in charge at Arizona State.

The 2020 campaign consists of seven non-conference tilts in addition to ten Pac-12 Conference matchups, leading up to the 2020 Pac-12 Championships running April 23-26. There will be plenty of opportunities to see the Sun Devils in action, as ASU hosts eight games at Sun Devil Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium. With five showdowns against preseason Top-20 teams, the Maroon & Gold will test themselves against some of the top talent in the nation.

"Our non-conference schedule is designed to prepare us for the challenges the Pac-12 Conference has to offer," Coach Tim McCormack remarked. "Going on the road early in the season should help us bond as a team and learn more about our personnel."

FEBRUARY (All Times MST)
The Sun Devils will begin the season on the road, as Coach McCormack's first game in charge will be on February 8 against the UC Davis Aggies. The first meeting between the two schools is scheduled for 2 pm. Under the direction of Head Coach Suzanne Isidor, UC Davis went 9-8 last season, including a win over Pac-12 foe Oregon. Their season ended with a loss to San Diego State in the MPSF Tournament final. Arizona State will stay on the road the next weekend, making their way to the Midwest for a pair of games.

On February 14 at 11 am the Sun Devils will face off with Detroit Mercy for the first time in school history. The Titans are members of the Southern Conference, going 4-1 in league play last season. In Head Coach Megan Callahan's first season, Detroit went 8-10 overall before falling to Furman in the SOCON semi-finals.

The toughest challenge of the non-conference schedule provides a unique storyline. Former Northwestern Assistant Coach Tim McCormack leads Arizona State into Evanston to take on the Wildcats on February 16 at 11 am. After spending six seasons on Head Coach Kelly Amonte Hiller's staff, Coach McCormack will prepare to face a familiar foe in the first-ever meeting between the two schools. The Wildcats are ranked No. 4 in the Nike/USL Preseason Top-20 poll and are expected to once again compete for a National Championship.

"Making the trip to Northwestern will be a great experience for our program," Coach McCormack mentioned. "It is an opportunity for us to compete against one of the most talented teams in the country."

A rematch of last season represents the final leg of a four-game road trip to start off the season, as the Sun Devils head to California to take on San Diego State. The game against the Aztecs is scheduled for February 20 at 2 pm. This will be the third consecutive year that the two teams do battle, with each team winning one of the first two matchups. Behind the strength of a historic nine-point day by Emily Glagolev (3 goals, 6 assists), Arizona State defeated San Diego State 13-11 in Tempe last April. The Aztecs are coming off a 11-7 campaign in which they captured the MPSF Tournament Championship.

Head Coach Tim McCormack will coach his first game at Sun Devil Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium when Arizona State hosts Marquette in the home opener on February 27 at 12 pm. The members of the Big East are coached by Meredith Black, who led the Golden Eagles to a 9-9 record last season. The first tilt between the two programs is the first of a six-game home stand, giving fans plenty of chances to check out the new-look Sun Devils.

MARCH (All Times MST)
Arizona State opens up the March slate with their second consecutive home game, hosting Fresno State on March 2 at 2 pm. The Bulldogs finished last season with a 7-7 record and enter the season with Kara Concheck serving as the Interim Head Coach. It will be the first meeting between the two programs, which are both breaking in new coaches.

Pac-12 Conference play begins on March 6 at 1 pm when ASU welcomes California to Tempe. The Golden Bears finished one spot ahead of the Sun Devils in the Pac-12 standings last season, winning all three matchups in the series. Arizona State picked up the program's first-ever Pac-12 win over this same California squad in their inaugural season back in March of 2018. Golden Bears' Head Coach Brooke Eubank enters her sixth season at the helm in Berkeley.

The second game of the weekend features 2019 NCAA Tournament Participant Stanford. The Sun Devils are scheduled to take on the Cardinal on March 8 at 1 pm. Stanford went 13-6 last season before falling to Notre Dame in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinal reached the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in the last 10 seasons and has won at least 11 games in 10 of the last 11 seasons. Danielle Spencer takes over as Head Coach on "The Farm" after making the move from Dartmouth.

A preseason Top-10 team comes to Tempe on March 13 when the Sun Devils play host to USC at 1 pm. The Trojans are ranked No. 10 in the Nike/USL Preseason Poll, a year removed from a NCAA Tournament appearance. The 2019 Pac-12 Regular Season and Tournament Champions went 16-4 last season under Head Coach Lindsey Munday. If the Trojans remain in the Top-10 at the time of the game, they would represent the highest-ranked team the Sun Devils have ever hosted at Sun Devil Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium.

In the final game of the home stand, Arizona State completes the non-conference portion of their schedule by hosting Monmouth. The first meeting between the two teams will take place on March 16 at 1 pm. The members of the MAAC went 12-6 last season, finishing second in the conference and ending their season in the conference tournament semi-finals. Head Coach Jordan Trautman's team had success away from home, going 7-3 on the road last season.

The team embarks on their first conference road trip of the season, taking on Colorado in Boulder on March 20 at 3 pm. The Buffaloes were the only Pac-12 Conference team to win an NCAA Tournament game a season ago, defeating Dartmouth in the first round. Head Coach Ann Elliott Whidden's team enters the season ranked No. 18 in the Nike/USL Preseason Poll. Colorado is coming off their sixth consecutive season reaching double digit wins, making them one of the most consistent programs in the country.

The second leg of the road trip has the Sun Devils traveling to Eugene to take on Oregon, a contest scheduled for March 22 at 1 pm. Arizona State had plenty of success in the series last season, earning the program's first-ever sweep of a Pac-12 school by defeating Oregon twice in 2019. ASU put together a fantastic effort in the first half to cruise past the Ducks, earning a 18-10 victory in Eugene last season. Oregon Head Coach Chelsea Gamble Hoffman enters her second season in charge, looking to improve upon her team's 3-15 record a season ago.

The same two teams make the return trip back to Tempe to end the month of March, as the home schedule comes to a close. The Sun Devils begin the round-robin portion of conference play, requiring them to play each Pac-12 opponent twice. Colorado comes to town on March 27 for a 3 pm game, as ASU hosts their second preseason Top-20 opponent. To wrap up the month, the Sun Devils will take on Oregon on March 29 at 1 pm. An impactful Senior Class will be honored, as it represents the final home game of the season.

APRIL (All Times MST)
Coach McCormack's team will enjoy a deserved weekend off before hitting the road once again, this time to the Bay Area. On April 10 at 7 pm the Sun Devils will take on California for the second time. Another rematch follows shortly after, as Arizona State takes on Stanford on April 12 at 12 pm. ASU will cap off the regular season with a road trip to USC for the second straight year, as they take on the Trojans on April 17 at 4 pm.

Stanford hosts the Pac-12 Conference Tournament this season at Maloney Field at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium, which is schedule to run April 23-26. The first-round matchups will be played on the April 23, with the semi-finals taking place on the April 24. The 2020 Pac-12 Conference Tournament Championship will be played on April 26.

Selection Sunday falls on May 3, as the NCAA Tournament Bracket will be revealed. The NCAA Championships begin with the opening round on May 5 and culminate in the National Championship on May 24, hosted at Homewood Field in Baltimore.
