TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State junior running back Eno Benjamin has been named to his fifth preseason watch list for the 2019 season, earning a place on the Walter Camp Player of Year Watch List announced by the Walter Camp Football Foundation Friday morning.

Benjamin, who was also named to the Maxwell, Doak Walker, Hornung and Wuerffel Award Watch Lists, will hit the field in 2019 looking to build off an incredibly successful sophomore campaign. Last season, Benjamin led the Sun Devil rushing attack and topped the Pac-12 with a school-record 1,642 rushing yards, carding triple-digit efforts on nine different occasions. Following the season, Eno was Arizona State's lone representative on the All-Conference First Team.

In all, 35 schools and 11 conferences (including independents) are represented on the list with the Pac-12 boasting four selections. The watch list will be narrowed to 10 semi-finalists in mid-November.  The 2019 Walter Camp Player of the Year recipient, which is voted on by the 130 NCAA Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors, will be announced live on ESPN on Thursday, December 12.  The winner will then receive his trophy at the Foundation's 53rd annual national awards banquet on January 18, 2020 in New Haven, Conn.

Walter Camp, "The Father of American football," first selected an All-America team in 1889. Camp, a former Yale University athlete and football coach, is also credited with developing play from scrimmage, set plays, the numerical assessment of goals and tries and the restriction of play to eleven men per side. The Walter Camp Football Foundation was founded in 1967 to perpetuate the ideals of Camp and to continue the tradition of selecting annually an All-America team.

The Walter Camp Foundation is a member of the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA), which encompasses the most prestigious awards in college football. Founded in 1997, the NCFAA and its 25 awards now boast over 800 recipients, dating back to 1935.
