TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Swimming's Grant House has been named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Men's At-Large team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The Association announced the news Friday morning.
The honor comes a month after the rising junior earned a spot on the All-District team, taking second team honors this time around. The Ohio-native is one of 29 student-athletes on the list that have a 4.0 GPA or better as a sophomore majoring in Exercise and Wellness.
No less than 40 of 47 members of the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Men's At-Large teams have at least a 3.90 GPA, with 29 student-athletes maintaining a 4.00 GPA (or better) as either undergraduate or graduate students. The 16 members of the first team (which was expanded due to ties in the voting) have an average GPA of 3.99.
In the pool, he currently holds four of the top-10 fastest times in Arizona State history in the 200 free as well as four in the 200 IM.
Also set to represent the maroon and gold on the world stage, House will partake in the 2019 World University Games this summer after racing to the then-24th fastest time in the 200 free LCM last summer.
