TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State volleyball head coach Sanja Tomasevic has announced the 2019 non-conference schedule, which begins on August 30 and features four tournaments on the road.
With all non-conference matches away from Tempe, the Sun Devils will be tested at Power Five venues across the country, ready for when Pac-12 play begins. ASU will match up against teams from various conferences, including the ACC, Big 12, SEC, and Mountain West.
The Sun Devils will spend their first weekend of the season in Houston, playing three matches. ASU will play Houston on August 30 and LSU and Texas A&M Corpus Christi on August 31.
The second tournament will be at Louisville from September 6-7. On Friday, Arizona State will play Western Kentucky and Tennessee Tech. The weekend will wrap up against the host team Louisville on Saturday. The Cardinals were the first out of the final AVCA rankings in 2018. They made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament last season.
From September 13-14, the Sun Devils will travel to Oklahoma. ASU will take on Louisiana and the host school Oklahoma on Friday before a matchup against Georgia Tech on Saturday.
Finally, the non-conference slate will finish with a trip to Las Vegas from September 19-20. Arizona State will play just two matches, one against UNLV on Thursday and the second against Kansas on Friday.
Conference matches will be released later this month. Follow along with Sun Devil volleyball on social media for updates as the season gets closer. On Twitter, follow @SunDevilVB, and on Instagram, follow at SunDevilVolleyball.
