TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 15 Arizona State Women's Golf team prepares to play at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club May 6-8 for their 27th consecutive NCAA Regional appearance, competing every year since the Regional postseason format was created in 1993.

The Sun Devils are one of just nine Division I Women's Golf teams to earn a spot at NCAA Regionals every year for the past 27 seasons. This puts the Arizona State program in elite company, as only the following teams have made an appearance in a Regional for at least 19 consecutive seasons:
  • Arizona State, Arizona, Duke, Florida, USC, Stanford, Tennessee, UCLA, Wake Forest (27)
  • Ohio State (25)
  • Purdue (22)
  • Pepperdine, South Carolina (21)
  • Cal (20)
  • Kent State, Texas A&M (19)
The program has claimed or shared a total of five Regional team championships, with the last two coming during the midst of National Championship runs in 2009 & 2017.

Arizona State will be the No. 4 seed in a region that features Big 12 Champion and No. 1 seed Texas. ACC Champion Wake Forest received the No. 2 seed while two-time National Champion Florida claimed the No. 3 seed. Following the Sun Devils, by seed, the other Norman Regional participants are host No. 5 Oklahoma, No. 6 TCU, No. 7 Pepperdine, No. 8 Purdue, No. 9 Ole Miss, No. 10 Texas Tech, No. 11 Mississippi State, No. 12 Virginia Tech, No. 13 NC State, No. 14 Texas A&M, No. 15 UTSA, No. 16 UNC Wilmington, No. 17 Sam Houston State, and No. 18 Farleigh Dickinson.

The Norman Regional includes eight programs who won their respective conference championship - Texas (Big 12), Wake Forest (ACC), Pepperdine (WCC), Ole Miss (SEC), UTSA (C-USA), UNC Wilmington (CAA), Sam Houston State (Southland), Farleigh Dickinson (NEC).

Tee times for the first two days of the Norman Regional site have been announced, with the Sun Devils partaking in a practice round tomorrow beginning at 8:56 a.m. CT. Along with a pair of Big 12 programs Oklahoma and TCU, Arizona State will officially start the regional as their first round begins on the 10th hole at 7:30 a.m. CT, with a new competitor teeing-off every ten minutes.

The individual qualifiers in Norman will be Michaela Fletcher (Memphis), Lauren Cox (North Texas), Brigitte Dunne (SMU), Lianna Bailey (Oklahoma State), Han-Hsuan Yu (Oklahoma State), Lorena Tseng (Tulsa).

Home to the University of Oklahoma's Golf programs, Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club originally opened back in 1951. It went under a major renovation in 1996 with World-renowned course architect Robert Cupp chosen for the redesign. The course has played host to the 1997 Oklahoma State Amateur and NCAA Regional, the Big 12 Women's Championship in 1998 and 2010, and most notably the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship in 2009. The course most recently hosted the 2013 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship and NCAA Regionals in 2012 (men's) and 2013 (women's).

The other three regional sites are Cle Elum, Washington, Opelika, Alabama and East Lansing, Michigan. Nine of 11 Pac-12 teams made NCAA Regionals, a testament to the strength of the best conference in women's golf, with USC and Stanford earning No. 1 overall seeds in their respective regionals.

Each of four regionals features 18 teams and six teams per regional (24 total) will advance to NCAA Championships May 17-22 at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark. The Arizona State Women's Golf program is looking to add to their record 34 appearances in the NCAA Championship. The top three individuals at each regional not from qualifying teams (12 total) will also advance to Stillwater.

Live results for the regional will be available on Golfstat.com. Tournament Central can be found at http://results.golfstat.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=participants&tid=17530. For more information on the Norman Regional, visit the Championship Central page.
