TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Hockey graduating defenseman Jakob Stridsberg has signed a professional contract with HC Vita Hästen of the Allsvenskan hockey league in Sweden, a second tier of the Swedish ice hockey system.
"We're very proud of Jakob and his ability to go home and play professional hockey in Sweden," said head coach Greg Powers. "It's a great opportunity for him, and we look forward to following his career at the next level."
The Swedish d-man finished his three years of eligibility at ASU playing in 90 games with 14 goals and 15 assists. He currently sits second in career points among ASU defenseman all-time.
"I'm very excited to sign my first pro contract and to represent Vita Hästen in Allsvenskan," said Stridsberg. "These last three years have prepared me for this next step, and I'll always be a Sun Devil for Life."
During his freshman season in 2015-16, he played in all 32 games, finishing atop all Sun Devil defenseman in scoring with nine goals and 16 points.
