SAN FRANCISCO – Following the conclusion of a successful 2018-19 campaign for the Sun Devils, the Pac-12 has named the 2019 All-Academic teams for Swimming and Diving and 18 Sun Devils made the list between three teams.
The selections include four Sun Devils with GPAs of 3.99 or higher and range in majors from Justice Studies to Psychology to Mechanical Engineering.
First Team honors for the women included Bentley Hulshof, Frida Kaellgren and Emma Nordin while Grant House, David Hoffer and Youssef Selim earned the honor on the men's side. The first team honor is the second-straight for Selim and Hulshof.
Evan Carlson, Ben Olszewski and Zach Poti represented the Sun Devil men on the Second Team while Camryn Curry, Kendall Dawson, Kaya Philapil and Fanny Teijonsalo rounded out the women's selections.
Earning honorable mentions for ASU were Chloe Isleta, Silja Kansakoski, Krista Kolkebeck and Cameron Smith for the women and Danny Comforti on the men's side.
Also recognized on a national scale, in January the Sun Devil men's and women's squad earned Scholar All-America honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for the 11th consecutive semester dating back to the Fall of 2013.
To be eligible for a Pac-12 All-Academic selection, a student-athlete must have at least one year in residence at their institution, a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and participate in at least half of the team's contests.
