OJAI, Calif. – The Sun Devil women's tennis team saw their Pac-12 title run come to an end at the hands of No. 3 Washington when it fell 4-0 Thursday night in Ojai, California.

The Devils and Huskies appeared to be evenly matched at the start of doubles play as the three courts traded games.

Washington grabbed the early advantage by getting off of court three with a win, but No. 76 Hampton/Alicea brought things back to even when they recorded a 6-3 win on court two.

The Husky pairing tied the contest on court one at 5-5 and would eventually jump ahead of ASU 6-5 before the Devils blanked them to force a winner-take-all tiebreak for the match and the doubles point. Washington went on win the set and take the 1-0 lead.

Ilze Hattingh, Tereza Kolarova and Savannah Slaysman all scored first set wins, but the Dawgs battled back to split sets on courts one and five.

Washington made it a 2-0 lead when the Dawgs took court four in straight sets. Just after, the Huskies pushed their advantage to 3-0 after they won on court two.

The match ended when Washington won on court six. Freshman Samantha Alicea fought to force a tiebreak, but couldn't hold on to force the third set.

With the 4-0 defeat to the Huskies, the Sun Devils head back to Tempe to await their NCAA fate, seeking their 32nd-straight trip to the tournament.
