He is joined by Louise Jandura of MIT (field hockey, basketball, softball), Nicole Aunapu Mann of Navy (soccer) and Greg Meredith of Notre Dame (ice hockey) in this summer's class. He joins 2013 inductee Pat Tillman as Sun Devils to earn the honor, which was started in 1998. He will be honored in June at the NACDA Convention in Orlando.
Bloomquist was a three-year starter for the Sun Devils (1997-99) and a third-round pick of the Seattle Mariners in 1999 and started in 175 Arizona State games. He earned 1999 first-team All-America honors from Baseball America, ABCA and College Baseball Insider. A career .394 hitter, he finished his career with 256 hits, 42 doubles, 22 triples, 176 RBI and 15 home runs, which included a .414 mark in 1998, at the time the eighth-best mark in Sun Devil history.Good luck to @ASU_Baseball on their quest to Omaha ! In addition to Pac-10 Player of the Year in 1999 he also earned first-team honors in 1998. He played with USA Baseball in the summer of 1998. He also was honorable mention freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball in 1997, a second-team All-American by NCBWA and ABCA in 1998.Congrats to Greg Powers and the boys at @SunDevilHockey ! going from rags to riches in such a short time!
