TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State beach volleyball will wrap up the regular season this weekend, traveling to Texas to participate in the 2019 Kingsville Beach Bash, April 12-13.
 
After last weekend, the Sun Devils are 15-12 on the season. They went 2-2 at their final home tournament, including a win over Utah for the second Pac-12 win of the season. ASU also battled No. 7 Cal Poly close, earning wins on courts four and five. Three pairs had 3-1 records over the four matches.
 
Kate Baldwin and Samantha Plaster lead the Sand Devil in pairs wins this season. They have a 19-7 record this year and a 38-19 record in their careers, which is second all-time at Arizona State in pairs wins. They need four more victories to pass Bianca Arellano and Whitney Follette for the top spot.
 
Opponents Outlook
Abilene Christian (2-9) | April 12, 10 a.m. MST; April 13, 9 a.m. MST
  • The Wildcats' two wins this season are against Arizona Christian and Benedictine University at Mesa.
  • ACU and ASU will play twice this weekend for a total of three matches played against each other this season. The Sun Devils took the first matchup last weekend, 5-0.
Texas A&M-Kingsville (10-11) | April 12, 2 p.m. MST
  • The Javelinas are currently on a three-match losing streak after playing three ranked teams in a row.
  • This will be the second meeting between ASU and TAMUK in program history. The Sun Devils swept the Javelinas 5-0 in 2017.
Park University (5-6) | April 13, 11 a.m. MST
  • The Pirates are 5-6 this year. They have won three of their last four matches at a tournament in Illinois.
  • This will be the first meeting between ASU and Park all-time.
