SAN FRANCISCO – After her strong season in the gym and in the classroom, Anne Kuhm was named the Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year by the conference on Wednesday, just the second Gym Devil in program history to receive the honor.

Kuhm is the second Sun Devil to be named Pac-12 Scholar Athlete of the Year. The first was Mary Atkinson back in 2011. She has a 4.21 GPA in liberal studies and will graduate at the end of the semester.

The senior has had another solid season for Arizona State. She has helped the Gym Devils finish the year with a winning record (11-10) for the first time since 2014. Her best meet of the year was against Oregon State when she had a season-high 39.325 all-around total. She also won a vault title at Texas Woman's University. In all but two meets, she has been an all-around gymnast for ASU.

In order to be eligible for the Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, student-athletes must be a senior (in athletics eligibility) on track to receive a degree, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, participate in at least 50% of the scheduled contests in the sport and have a minimum of one year in residence at the institution. To see the Pac-12's release, head to their website.

The Gym Devils are competing in the first session of the Pac-12 Gymnastics Championships this Saturday at 1 p.m. MDT, live on the Pac-12 Network.
