Tempe, Ariz. - Arizona State head coach Trisha Ford and the Sun Devil Softball coaching staff announced another addition to a talented 2019 signing class in Morgan Leinstock, a local right-handed pitcher from Horizon High School in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Leinstock has spent the first three years of her high school career at the Varsity level, appearing in 71 games. She has excelled through her career, boasting a 1.53 ERA in 347.1 innings pitched, Leinstock has been one of the most dominant pitchers in the Arizona High School scene over the past three seasons.
Continuing to improve throughout her prep career, the right-hander has increased her strikeout numbers significantly since her freshman season. With her senior year still to play, Leinstock has struck out a total of 436 batters. She maintains excellent command despite the gaudy strikeout numbers, allowing just 74 walks.
As a result of her efforts, she has received honorable mention 2017 6A All-State honors. In all three of her seasons at the high school level, Leinstock earned a spot on the All-District and All-Region teams. She possesses unique athleticism for the position, something that can be credited to the time she has spent on the basketball court.
Leinstock has been a member of Horizon's Varsity basketball team for all three seasons. Following up a Second Team All-District season in 2017, Leinstock was named to the All-District First Team in 2018.
Leinstock is part of the club team, the Oro Valley Sun Cats, who finished in First Place at the San Diego Triple Crown Sports NIT. Additionally, she gained experience participating in National Premier Girls Fastpitch Nationals four years in a row. Beyond the academic success ASU has to offer, Leinstock is excited to get to play for Coach Ford and staff in front of such an incredible Fan base at Farrington next season.
